Cliff-Harvested by the Gurung People
Collected by the legendary Gurung honey hunters of Nepal using traditional rope ladders on sheer cliff faces. One of the most adventurous harvests in the world.
Himalayan Wild Honey is harvested by the Gurung people of Nepal — a tradition stretching back over 10,000 years. Using handmade rope ladders and bamboo baskets, hunters scale sheer cliff faces up to 300 metres high to reach the hives of Apis laboriosa, the world's largest honeybee. The honey is produced from the nectar of rhododendron, wild thyme, and hundreds of other Himalayan wildflowers. Each harvest is seasonal — spring and autumn — and quantities are strictly limited. Our Himalayan honey is cold-extracted, unfiltered, and certified organic.
